BackgroundBotulinum toxin was first described in 1895. It is a potent neurotoxin released by clostridium, gram-negative, anaerobic, rod-shaped bacterium. Initially, it considered to be the cause of life-threatening disease. However, research demonstrated novel and effective therapy managing range diseases, including some that affect urinary bladder. approved Food Drug Administration (FDA) 1898.
 ObjectivesThis study aimed evaluate long-term effects intravesical botulinum A (BTA) injections patients with an indwelling catheter for detrusor overactivity. The selected this were experiencing significant catheter-associated symptoms such as bypassing, bladder spasms, intractable pain, blockages, recurrent infections.
 MethodA retrospective cohort conducted received BTA after failure symptom management using oral anticholinergic beta 3-adrenocepter agonist. group 12 identified, they followed up clinic receiving treatment.
 ResultsAll included had relief their following administration BTA. Almost 58% (n = 7) required 3 or fewer treatments gain control, remaining gaining control 4 treatments. There no adverse events reports only mild temporary side effects, haematuria, experienced.
 ConclusionThis can significantly improve associated catheters may help avoid more complex invasive interventions.
